Understanding IP Geolocation Data Fields
- Country & Country Code:The country where the IP is registered and its ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 code (e.g., "US" for United States). This is the most reliable geolocation field.
- Region & City: The state/region and city associated with the IP address. City-level accuracy varies - IPs in densely populated areas tend to have more accurate city data than rural IPs.
- Latitude/Longitude:Approximate geographic coordinates. These typically represent the location of the ISP's registration office or a central point in the service area, not the exact device location.
- ISP & Organization: The Internet Service Provider and the organization that owns the IP block. These can differ when an ISP leases IP blocks to another company.
- AS Number: The Autonomous System number (e.g., AS15169 for Google). AS numbers identify the routing domain that controls the IP block and are useful for network analysis and routing diagnostics.

We do not store, log, or process your IP queries on our servers. ip-api.com's free tier has a rate limit of 15 batch requests per minute and does not require an API key. Results are based on ISP registration data, not GPS, so city-level accuracy may vary. For commercial or high-volume use, consider ip-api.com's paid plans. The tool accepts only IPv4 addresses - IPv6 is not supported by the free batch endpoint. We recommend using no more than 20 IPs per batch for optimal performance.
