Image Tiler

Upload any tile or texture image and generate a seamlessly tiled version at any target dimensions. Choose from four repeat modes including mirror tiling for seamless textures. All processing runs locally in your browser — no upload, no signup required.

Standard repeat — the tile is copied as-is in both directions.

Why Use Our Image Tiler?

Any Target Dimensions

Generate tiled images at any target width and height up to 8000×8000px. Use quick presets for common sizes like 1920×1080, 2560×1440, or 4K — or enter exact pixel dimensions for any use case.

Four Repeat Modes Including Mirror Tiling

Choose from standard tile repeat, mirror-horizontal, mirror-vertical, or mirror-both modes. Mirror tiling eliminates visible seams by reflecting alternating tiles, producing seamless textures from any source image.

Secure & 100% Private

All tiling is performed entirely in your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. Your images never leave your device — no server upload, no cloud processing, no data retention.

100% Free — No Signup Required

Completely free with no account, no premium tier, no usage limits, and no watermarks on the output. Generate tiled images as many times as you need.

Common Use Cases for Image Tiler

Desktop & Wallpaper Backgrounds

Generate seamless desktop wallpapers from small pattern tiles at any screen resolution. The image tiler supports 4K and ultrawide dimensions for modern displays.

Web & UI Background Textures

Create CSS background texture images at exact dimensions for web design projects. Mirror tiling mode eliminates visible seams, producing seamless backgrounds from any texture tile.

Product & Packaging Mockups

Tile fabric patterns, wrapping paper designs, and surface textures to fill product mockup templates at the required dimensions without visible repetition artifacts.

Social Media & Banner Design

Generate patterned backgrounds for social media posts, YouTube channel art, and email newsletter banners at platform-specific dimensions from a single small tile.

Game & App Asset Generation

Game developers and app designers use the image tiler to generate terrain textures, floor tiles, and background assets at the exact pixel dimensions required by their engine or framework.

Print & Textile Design

Textile designers and print studios use the image tiler to preview how a pattern repeat will look at full print dimensions before sending to production.

Understanding Image Tiling

What is Image Tiling?

Image tiling is the process of repeating a small source image (called a tile or texture) across a larger canvas to fill a target area. Tiling is fundamental to web design, game development, textile design, and print production — anywhere a pattern needs to fill a surface larger than the source image. Our image tiler generates a tiled canvas at any target dimensions using the HTML5 Canvas API, entirely in your browser with no server processing required.

How Our Image Tiler Works

  1. Upload Your Tile Image: Drop or select any image file (PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, BMP). The image is loaded into the browser and its dimensions are detected automatically — it never leaves your device.
  2. Set Target Dimensions & Repeat Mode: Enter the target width and height in pixels, or choose a quick preset. Select a repeat mode — standard tile, mirror-horizontal, mirror-vertical, or mirror-both. The tile count preview shows exactly how many tiles will fill the target area.
  3. Generate & Download:Click “Generate Tiled Image” to process the tiling instantly in your browser. Preview the result, then download as PNG, JPG, or WebP.

What Each Repeat Mode Does

  • Tile (Repeat): The standard repeat mode — the source tile is copied as-is in both horizontal and vertical directions. Best for tiles that are already designed to be seamless.
  • Mirror Horizontal: Alternating columns are flipped horizontally. This eliminates visible vertical seams between tiles, making any image appear seamless horizontally.
  • Mirror Vertical: Alternating rows are flipped vertically, eliminating visible horizontal seams between tile rows.
  • Mirror Both: Alternating tiles are mirrored in both directions simultaneously — the most effective mode for creating seamless textures from non-seamless source images.

Important Limitations

The image tiler supports target dimensions up to 8000×8000 pixels. Very large output sizes (above 4000×4000px) may take a few seconds to generate and produce large file sizes — PNG output at 4K can exceed 10MB. Mirror tiling reduces visible seams but does not guarantee perfect seamlessness for all source images — tiles with strong directional lighting or asymmetric patterns may still show reflection artifacts.

Frequently Asked Questions About Image Tiler

An image tiler takes a small source image (a tile or texture) and repeats it across a larger canvas to fill a target area. Our image tiler generates the tiled output at any target dimensions using the HTML5 Canvas API, entirely in your browser with no server processing required.

Mirror tiling flips alternating tiles horizontally, vertically, or both. Because each tile meets its mirror image at the boundary, the edges always match — eliminating the visible seam that appears when a non-seamless tile is repeated. Mirror-both mode is the most effective for making any texture appear seamless.

The image tiler supports target dimensions up to 8000×8000 pixels. Very large outputs (above 4000×4000px) may take a few seconds to generate and produce large file sizes. For most use cases, 1920×1080 to 3840×2160 is the practical range.

The image tiler accepts PNG, JPG, JPEG, WebP, GIF, BMP, and SVG files as the source tile. You can export the tiled output as PNG (lossless), JPG, or WebP. PNG is recommended for patterns with sharp edges or transparency.

No. All tiling is performed 100% locally in your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. Your source tile image is loaded directly into a canvas element on your device and never sent to any server. The tiled output is also generated locally and downloaded directly from your browser.

Yes. Upload your texture tile, set the target dimensions to match your design, choose Mirror Both mode for the best seamless result, and download as PNG. You can then use the tiled image as a CSS background-image, or use the original tile with CSS background-repeat: repeat for infinite tiling.

When aspect ratio lock is enabled, changing the width automatically updates the height to maintain the current width-to-height ratio, and vice versa. This is useful when you need to scale the output to a different resolution while keeping the same proportions.

Yes. The image tiler is 100% free with no signup required, no premium tier, no usage limits, and no watermarks on the output. Generate tiled images at any dimensions as many times as you need, directly in your browser.
