Image Cropper

Image cropping is the process of selecting and extracting a rectangular region from a larger image to remove unwanted areas, improve composition, or resize to a specific aspect ratio. Unlike resizing — which scales the entire image — cropping discards pixels outside the selected region, producing a smaller image that focuses on the subject. Our browser-based image cropper lets you crop any image with free-form selection, fixed aspect ratio, or pixel-exact dimensions, all without uploading your file to any server.

1. Upload Your Image: Drag and drop any image onto the upload zone, or click to browse. PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, BMP, and TIFF files are all supported. The image is loaded directly into your browser — nothing is sent to a server.
2. Adjust the Crop Region: Drag the corner and edge handles to resize the crop box. Drag inside the box to move it. Choose a preset aspect ratio (1:1, 16:9, 4:3, etc.) to lock proportions, or use free-form mode for any shape. Enter exact pixel coordinates in the Pixel-Exact panel for precise crops.
3. Download the Cropped Image:Select your output format (PNG, JPEG, or WebP) and quality, then click Crop & Download. The cropped image is generated using the Canvas API and downloaded directly to your device.

• Free-Form: Drag any corner or edge handle independently to create a crop box of any width and height. All 8 handles (4 corners + 4 edges) are active in this mode.
• Fixed Aspect Ratio: Lock the crop box to a preset ratio (1:1, 4:3, 16:9, 3:2, 9:16, 2:3, 5:4, 7:5). Dragging any corner handle maintains the selected ratio automatically. Ideal for social media, print, and video thumbnails.
• Pixel-Exact: Enter precise X, Y, Width, and Height values in pixels and click Apply Dimensions. The crop box snaps to the exact coordinates you specify — useful for UI assets, passport photos, and technical image processing.
• Rule-of-Thirds Grid: A subtle rule-of-thirds overlay appears inside the crop box to help you align subjects to compositional guidelines used in photography and design.

Choose PNG for lossless output — ideal for screenshots, UI assets, and images with transparency. Choose JPEG for photographs where a smaller file size is more important than pixel-perfect quality — use the quality slider to balance size and fidelity. Choose WebP for the best compression-to-quality ratio for web use — WebP typically produces files 25–35% smaller than JPEG at equivalent visual quality. All formats are generated entirely in your browser using the Canvas API.
